What is ethernetBroadcastMom?

This OID tracks the current count of broadcast packets observed on the Ethernet interface at this moment (momentum measurement). Unusually high broadcast rates can indicate a network loop or misbehaving device. A network engineer monitors this to catch broadcast storms before they flood the network and degrade performance.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.15397.2.1.28.2.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PACKETLOGIC-MIB::ethernetBroadcastMom

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.15397.2.1.28.2.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PACKETLOGIC-MIB::ethernetBroadcastMom.1
