This read-only integer counts how many IGMP membership reports have been received for this specific group entry. Admins use a low or stalled count to spot clients that joined once but stopped renewing membership, which combined with the expiry timer helps predict when the group will time out. A report count that never increments despite an active stream can indicate the client's IGMP stack isn't sending periodic reports as expected.
