es480tVlanProtocolDllEncapsType

Module: INTEL-ES480-VLAN-MIB

OID (symbolic): INTEL-ES480-VLAN-MIB::es480tVlanProtocolDllEncapsType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.60.2.5.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Represents the type of data-link encapsulation in which the es480tVlanProtocolId protocol ID is carried. The value any(1) is used to indicate a wildcard and matches all encapsulations and protocol IDs that are not explicitly mentioned in this table. Entries of type any(1) may not be created. The value none(5) is used to indicate that no protocol IDs match this entry. A value of none(5) may not be set by a manager.

What is es480tVlanProtocolDllEncapsType?

This value identifies the data-link encapsulation type in which the associated protocol ID is carried, chosen from any, ethertype, llc, or llcSnapEthertype, with any(1) acting as a wildcard that cannot be manually created and none(5) reserved to mean no match. Admins use it to tell the switch exactly how to recognize a given protocol on the wire, since the same protocol ID can appear under different framing types. Setting es480tVlanProtocolDllEncapsType to ethertype(2) tells the switch to match this protocol definition against the standard EtherType field rather than an LLC/SNAP header.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.60.2.5.1.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> INTEL-ES480-VLAN-MIB::es480tVlanProtocolDllEncapsType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.60.2.5.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> INTEL-ES480-VLAN-MIB::es480tVlanProtocolDllEncapsType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.60.2.5.1.1.4.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> es480tVlanProtocolDllEncapsType.1
