Module: INTEL-ES480-VLAN-MIB

OID (symbolic): INTEL-ES480-VLAN-MIB::es480tVlanIfGlobalIdentifier

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.60.2.1.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: An administratively assigned global VLAN identifier.

The binding between a global identifier and a VLAN interface can be created or removed. To create a binding an NMS must write a non-zero value to this object. To delete a binding, the NMS must write a zero to this object. The value 1 is reserved for the default VLAN and this cannot be deleted or re-assigned.

What is es480tVlanIfGlobalIdentifier?

This value is the administratively assigned global VLAN identifier bound to this VLAN interface; writing a non-zero value creates the binding, writing zero removes it, and the value 1 is permanently reserved for the default VLAN. Admins use it to assign or change which VLAN ID a given interface represents, effectively tagging traffic on that interface. Setting es480tVlanIfGlobalIdentifier to 100 binds this VLAN interface to VLAN ID 100 across the switch.
