esconStationAttentionTimeOut
Module: IBMESCONCUB-MIB
OID (symbolic): IBMESCONCUB-MIB::esconStationAttentionTimeOut
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.119.4.14.3.1.1.7
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Specifies the amount of time in seconds that the station is to wait for a response to an attention signal it sent to the host before initiating channel disconnect.
An update to this object takes effect the next time the station establishes communications with the host.
What is esconStationAttentionTimeOut?
This read-write INTEGER (10..840 seconds) specifies, per its source description, how long an ESCON station waits for the host to respond to an attention signal before the station initiates a channel disconnect, with changes taking effect only the next time the station re-establishes communication with the host. Admins raise this value for a host known to be slow to respond to attention signals under heavy load, to avoid the station prematurely disconnecting a still-viable session. For example, increasing this from a shorter default toward the 840-second maximum would give a busy host more time to acknowledge before the station gives up and disconnects.
