hwTrapSourceType

Module: HUAWEI-SNMPTrap-MIB

OID (symbolic): HUAWEI-SNMPTrap-MIB::hwTrapSourceType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.3.14.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The type of the source interface of sending trap. Options: 1. auto(1) -auto type. If it is set to auto(1), the information about the trap source interface previously set in the system is cleared. 2. meth(2) -meth type. 3. vlanif(3)-vlanif type. If it is set to meth(2) or vlanif(3), you also need to set hwInterfaceNumber, in order to complete the information of the source interface of sending trap. If the specified trap source interface does not exist, setting the trap source interface fails.

What is hwTrapSourceType?

hwTrapSourceType selects which type of interface the Huawei device uses as the source of the traps it sends, choosing between auto(1) automatic selection, meth(2) a management Ethernet port, or vlanif(3) a VLAN interface. Setting it to meth or vlanif requires also configuring hwInterfaceNumber to identify the specific interface, and the device rejects the setting if that interface doesn't exist. For example, an admin might set hwTrapSourceType to vlanif(3) and hwInterfaceNumber to 100 so all outgoing traps appear to originate from VLAN interface 100's IP address.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.3.14.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HUAWEI-SNMPTrap-MIB::hwTrapSourceType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.3.14.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HUAWEI-SNMPTrap-MIB::hwTrapSourceType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.3.14.2.1 i <value>
