What is hwIpDslamL2pVlanCtrlVmacStatus?

This object turns the VMAC (virtual MAC) feature on or off for a specific VLAN, with disable(1) as the default. Admins enable this to activate virtual MAC address translation for devices on that VLAN, typically used to obscure or standardize the MAC addresses seen upstream. For example, setting hwIpDslamL2pVlanCtrlVmacStatus to enable(2) activates VMAC handling for all traffic within that VLAN, a prerequisite before the more specific IPoE, PPPoE, and PPPoA VMAC sub-status settings take effect.
