Module: HP-OV-NETMON

OID (symbolic): HP-OV-NETMON::criticalRoute

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.17.4.4.2.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: This MIB object's value is a space separated list of . tuple values which correspond to the specified interface's criticalRoute beginning with the netmon host/interface and ending with the specified host/interface. This value is normally computed by netmon during the status poll of the specified interface. For automated test situations, you can imagine starting up the system from scratch (including netmon). At the time the test runs, it's possible that netmon has not yet calculated criticalRoute for the nodes of interest. Of course if you wait long enough, netmon will eventually get around to computing a criticalRoute value. To facilitate automated testing, a set to this object forces netmon to compute the criticalRoute attribute for the specified interface. The user supplied value is ignored.

What is criticalRoute?

This value holds a space-separated list of ovwDbId/hostname.ifNumber tuples describing the critical route from the netmon host to a specified interface, normally computed automatically during that interface's status poll. Reading it after a poll shows the admin the path netmon considers critical to reaching that interface; writing any value to it (the value itself is ignored) forces netmon to immediately recompute the criticalRoute for that interface, which is useful in automated tests run right after startup before netmon has naturally calculated it yet. For example, a test script would set this object right after bringing up netmon to force an immediate critical-route calculation instead of waiting for the normal poll cycle.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.17.4.4.2.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HP-OV-NETMON::criticalRoute

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.17.4.4.2.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HP-OV-NETMON::criticalRoute.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.17.4.4.2.1.1.5.1 s <value>
