horizonEquipmentEventLogVariableIpAddressVal

Module: HORIZON-EQUIPMENT-LOG-MIB

OID (symbolic): HORIZON-EQUIPMENT-LOG-MIB::horizonEquipmentEventLogVariableIpAddressVal

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.7262.2.100.1.2.3.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: IpAddress

Access: read-only

Description: The value when horizonEquipmentEventLogVariableValueType is 'ipAddress'. Although this seems to be unfriendly for IPv6, we have to recognize that there are a number of older MIBs that do contain an IPv4 format address, known as IpAddress.

IPv6 addresses are represented using TAddress or InetAddress, and so the underlying datatype is OCTET STRING, and their value would be stored in the horizonEquipmentEventLogVariableOctetStringVal column.

What is horizonEquipmentEventLogVariableIpAddressVal?

Holds this varbind's value as an IPv4 address when horizonEquipmentEventLogVariableValueType indicates ipAddress; note that IPv6 addresses are instead stored in horizonEquipmentEventLogVariableOctetStringVal since this legacy column only supports the older IPv4 format.
