What is ontDeviceType?

This selects or reports which specific ONT hardware model this subscriber terminal is expected to be, using vendor model codes such as 101 for a T10-100 (a 1-port Ethernet SFU) or 202 for a C40-427 (a 4-port Ethernet, POTS, and Wi-Fi HGU). An administrator sets this to match the physical unit being deployed so the OLT applies the correct port-count and feature template for that ONT. A mismatch between this configured type and the ONT actually detected typically means the wrong device model was provisioned at that index.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.13464.1.11.4.1.1.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> GPON-MIB::ontDeviceType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.13464.1.11.4.1.1.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> GPON-MIB::ontDeviceType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.13464.1.11.4.1.1.8.1 i <value>
