tp25LoopbackConfig

Module: Fore-tp25-MIB

OID (symbolic): Fore-tp25-MIB::tp25LoopbackConfig

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.9.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This variable represents the loopback configuration of the TP25 interface. tp25NoLoop (1) means that the interface is not in a loopback state. tp25DiagLoop (2) means that the transmit data stream is looped back to the receiver. tp25LineLoop (3) also known as remote loopback, in this state received data is transfered to upstream system as well as looped back to the transmitter.

What is tp25LoopbackConfig?

This read-write value controls whether the TP25 port is placed into a diagnostic or line loopback state, or left in normal (no-loop) operation. An admin sets tp25DiagLoop(2) to loop the transmit stream back into the receiver for local self-testing, or tp25LineLoop(3) to loop received data back to the far end (while still passing it upstream) for remote link testing. Setting tp25LoopbackConfig to tp25LineLoop(3) lets a technician verify end-to-end wiring to a remote device without needing physical access to that far-end port.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.9.1.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Fore-tp25-MIB::tp25LoopbackConfig

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.9.1.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Fore-tp25-MIB::tp25LoopbackConfig.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.9.1.1.1.5.1 i <value>
