syncStatusMsgForceDus

Module: Fore-SSM-MIB

OID (symbolic): Fore-SSM-MIB::syncStatusMsgForceDus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.2.1.21.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates if Don't Use for Synchronization (DUS) is being forced on the transmit side of this interface. If this variable is set to enabled, then the switch will generate DUS message on the transmit side of the interface. Otherwise, the switch will transmit an appropriate value according to the SSM protocol.

What is syncStatusMsgForceDus?

This read-write enumerated value indicates whether Don't Use for Synchronization (DUS) is forced on the transmit side of this interface: if enabled, the switch generates a DUS message on transmit regardless of actual clock quality; if disabled, it transmits the appropriate SSM per protocol. Admins enable this to explicitly signal downstream equipment not to use this interface's clock, for example on a link known to have an unreliable timing source. For example, an admin sets this to enabled(1) on an interface with a suspect clock source so downstream switches won't select it for synchronization.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.2.1.21.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Fore-SSM-MIB::syncStatusMsgForceDus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.2.1.21.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Fore-SSM-MIB::syncStatusMsgForceDus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.2.1.21.1.1.5.1 i <value>
