syncStatusMsgAutomaticRefSwitching

Module: Fore-SSM-MIB

OID (symbolic): Fore-SSM-MIB::syncStatusMsgAutomaticRefSwitching

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.2.1.21.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates whether or not changes in SSM will cause automatic reference switching. If the variable is set to enabled, the switch will process and react to changes in SSM. If the variable is set to disabled, changes in SSM will not cause timing reference switching. Default value is disabled.

What is syncStatusMsgAutomaticRefSwitching?

This read-write enumerated value, defaulting to disabled, controls whether changes in SSM cause automatic reference switching: when enabled, the switch reacts to SSM changes and may switch its timing reference; when disabled, SSM changes are ignored for switching purposes. Admins enable this to let the switch automatically fail over to a better-quality clock source when the current reference's SSM degrades. For example, an admin sets this to enabled(1) so the switch automatically switches to a backup timing reference if the primary reference's SSM quality drops.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Fore-SSM-MIB::syncStatusMsgAutomaticRefSwitching

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.2.1.21.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Fore-SSM-MIB::syncStatusMsgAutomaticRefSwitching.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.2.1.21.2.1 i <value>
