sonetPathRdi
Module: Fore-SONET-MIB
OID (symbolic): Fore-SONET-MIB::sonetPathRdi
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.4.1.1.1.21
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This variable controls the insertion of Path Remote Defect Indication (RDI_P). When set to sonetPathRdiAuto, RDI_P is automatically inserted into the transmit SONET stream whenever Loss Of Signal (LOS), Loss of Frame (LOF), Line AIS (AIS_L), Loss of Pointer (LOP), Path AIS (AIS_P), or Loss of Cell delineation (LCD) is detected. When set to sonetPathRdiOn, RDI_P is always inserted into the transmit SONET stream. Path RDI is inserted by setting RDI_P bit position in the path status byte (G1) high.
What is sonetPathRdi?
Controls insertion of Path Remote Defect Indication (RDI_P, via the G1 byte): sonetPathRdiAuto (the default) inserts it automatically on LOS, LOF, Line AIS, LOP, Path AIS, or LCD, while sonetPathRdiOn always inserts it. An admin would force sonetPathRdiOn only for test purposes, since automatic mode already reflects real path-layer defects to the far end.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.4.1.1.1.21 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Fore-SONET-MIB::sonetPathRdi
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.4.1.1.1.21.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Fore-SONET-MIB::sonetPathRdi.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.4.1.1.1.21.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> sonetPathRdi.1
