Description: This variable controls whether declaration of a Line BIP Defect forces the port's operState to Down. This variable is only applicable when sonetLineBerErrorModel is set to errorModelBurst.
What is sonetLineBipFailEnable?
Controls whether a declared Line BIP Defect, under the burst error model, forces this port's operational state to Down. An admin disables this if they want line BIP errors logged/counted but not to actually take the port out of service.
