Description: This variable is used to enable or disable the sending of new violation traps designating when a packet with a disallowed MAC address is received on a locked port.
What is agentPortSecurityViolationTrapMode?
This read-write value enables or disables SNMP trap notifications when a disallowed MAC address triggers a port security violation on this port. An admin enables this so the NMS is alerted in real time whenever an unauthorized device attempts to connect to a locked port, rather than having to poll for violations. For example, with this set to enable(1), plugging a rogue laptop into a locked port would immediately fire an agentPortSecurityViolation trap to the monitoring system.
