Module: EdgeSwitch-DENIALOFSERVICE-PRIVATE-MIB

OID (symbolic): EdgeSwitch-DENIALOFSERVICE-PRIVATE-MIB::agentSwitchDenialOfServiceTCPFlagMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4413.1.1.31.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Enables or Disables the TCP Flag Denial of Service protection feature.

What is agentSwitchDenialOfServiceTCPFlagMode?

This read-write switch enables or disables the "TCP Flag" Denial-of-Service protection feature, which inspects the combination of TCP control flags set in a packet. Admins enable it to block packets carrying flag combinations that never occur in legitimate TCP traffic, which attackers use to probe firewalls or exploit weak stack implementations. For example, a packet with all flag bits set, a so-called Christmas-tree packet, would be filtered out by the switch when this feature is enabled.
