What is dxCacheSearchMisses?

This counter tracks the cumulative number of directory search requests that bypassed DxCache and were serviced by the backend instead. An admin uses this alongside dxCacheSearchHits to spot a rising miss rate, which could mean the cache is too small or is being invalidated too frequently. For example, a sudden surge in search misses after a DISP update matches the cache-dirty refresh described for dxCacheStatus.
