swDoSCtrlMirrorPriority

Module: DOS-PREV-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOS-PREV-MIB::swDoSCtrlMirrorPriority

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.59.1.3.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object configures the priority of the detected packet. Valid priority values are from 0 to 7. The value 8 indicates that there will be no change in the priority of the DoS attack packet as it is forwarded to the mirror port. A valid mirror port must first be specified in order to set this value.

What is swDoSCtrlMirrorPriority?

This read-write object sets the priority value stamped on DoS-attack packets as they're forwarded to the configured mirror port, with 8 meaning the packet's original priority is left unchanged. Admins use it to mark mirrored attack traffic with a distinct priority so it can be queued or filtered separately from normal mirrored traffic, but a valid mirror port must already be specified before this value takes effect. For example, setting swDoSCtrlMirrorPriority to 7 tags mirrored attack packets with the highest priority so a downstream analyzer can easily separate them from lower-priority mirrored traffic.
