swDoSCtrlMirrorPort

Module: DOS-PREV-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOS-PREV-MIB::swDoSCtrlMirrorPort

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.59.1.3.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates the port to which the attack packet will be forwarded. A value of 0 means that the DoS prevention action type is either not set to 'mirror'. or the 'mirror' DoS action is not active. When swDoSCtrlActionType is set to 'mirror' with swDoSCtrlState set to 'enable', setting this value to a valid port number will activate the 'mirror' DoS action.

What is swDoSCtrlMirrorPort?

This read-write object specifies the port number to which packets matching this row's DoS attack type are forwarded when the mirror action is active, with 0 meaning no mirror destination is configured. An admin must set this to a valid port number, along with swDoSCtrlActionType set to mirror and swDoSCtrlState set to enable, before mirrored DoS traffic actually starts flowing to that port. For example, setting swDoSCtrlMirrorPort to 24 sends copies of packets flagged under this attack type out physical port 24 for a connected analyzer to inspect.
