Module: CNT246-MIB
OID (symbolic): CNT246-MIB::cnt2TransportIPtosPrecedence
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.333.2.4.6.1.1.8
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: The service precedence of IP Type of Service use by this link. There is an 8 bit field in an IP datagram that specifies the type of service a datagram is requesting (or hinting). It may then be used by the network to determine paths and precedence for a given datagram. The specific bits used may vary depending on the network (see RFC 791 for more details). The IpServiceType attribute can be used on a per circuit basis to specify the bits to be set in the IP datagram's service type field. Each Transport IP datagram destined for the DestionationIpAddress will have this field set. This attributes only applicable to IP providers. The service precedence is in bit 0-2 of the 8 bit IP Type of Service field.
What is cnt2TransportIPtosPrecedence?
This read-write enumerated INTEGER sets the IP Type-of-Service precedence value, routine, priority, immediate, flash, or higher, that this transport link applies to its outgoing datagrams. An administrator raises this above routine to signal to the network that this link's traffic should be favored in path and precedence decisions elsewhere. For example, setting cnt2TransportIPtosPrecedence to priority(2) on a critical transport link tells downstream routers to favor it over links still marked routine.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.333.2.4.6.1.1.8 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CNT246-MIB::cnt2TransportIPtosPrecedence
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.333.2.4.6.1.1.8.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CNT246-MIB::cnt2TransportIPtosPrecedence.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.333.2.4.6.1.1.8.1 i <value>
