This read-only Counter64 is the count of bytes dropped in the send direction for this VPath, i.e. outbound traffic toward the remote site that this appliance discarded. An admin watches this to determine whether outbound loss toward a specific remote site is occurring locally at this end of the tunnel. For example, a rise in send-direction dropped bytes on a VPath to a branch, while the receive-direction counter stays flat, points to a local egress or WAN Link problem at this appliance rather than an issue at the remote end.
