What is cvTotalBroadcastInPackets?
This counter tracks the total number of VINES broadcast packets received across all interfaces. An admin cares because excessive broadcast volume can indicate a broadcast storm or misconfigured helpering that wastes bandwidth and CPU. For example, comparing this counter against the broadcast-forwarded counter shows what fraction of incoming broadcasts the router actually propagates onward.
