What is cvIfCountInMacEchoPackets?
This per-interface counter tracks MAC-layer echo frames received on that interface. An admin cares because MAC-level echo activity indicates local link-layer connectivity tests happening specifically on this segment. For example, a device on the same LAN segment running a Layer 2 loopback test would show up as this counter incrementing.
