What is cvIfCountInArpIllegalMessages?
This per-interface counter tracks ARP messages received that were malformed or violated the VINES ARP message format. An admin cares because a nonzero count signals a misbehaving device or protocol implementation issue on that specific segment worth investigating. For example, a legacy or third-party VINES device with a buggy ARP implementation could be the source of a climbing count here.
