What is cvForwRouteSource?
This read-only INTEGER identifies how a route table entry was learned, such as self, rtpRedirect, rtpUpdate, manualRoute, igrp, or test. An admin checks this to distinguish dynamically learned VINES routes from manually configured static ones when auditing the routing table. A route reporting manualRoute(5) is a route the admin explicitly configured, unlike one learned through rtpUpdate(4) from another VINES router.
