majorState

Module: ADH-NETCOM-MIB

OID (symbolic): ADH-NETCOM-MIB::majorState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.32185.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Major state of the dehydrator. Online: currently pressurizing. Standby: not pressurizing. Leaky: shut down because of inability to pressurize.

What is majorState?

This integer OID indicates the primary operational mode of the dehydrator: Online (pressurizing), Standby (idle), or Leaky (failed due to inability to maintain pressure). Network operators check this to verify the dehydrator is functional and to know if it requires manual intervention. An example value of 1 might represent Online mode, meaning the dehydrator is actively pressurizing the system.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.32185.2.1.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ADH-NETCOM-MIB::majorState

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.32185.2.1.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ADH-NETCOM-MIB::majorState.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.32185.2.1.8.1 i <value>

Start monitoring Environmental Technology Inc. compressor/environment controllers with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the ADH-NETCOM-MIB::majorState OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any Environmental Technology Inc. compressor/environment controllers from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select an Environmental Technology Inc. compressor/environment controller as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type majorState into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. It reports the major state of the dehydrator. Online: currently pressurizing. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is 'leaky', since that means the dehydrator has shut down because it's unable to pressurize. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
