h3cLBRealServerStatus

Module: A3COM-HUAWEI-LB-MIB

OID (symbolic): A3COM-HUAWEI-LB-MIB::h3cLBRealServerStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.45.1.10.2.116.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: A list of real server status type. enabled: the real server is enabled. disabled: the real server is disabled, the loadbalance device does not assign any traffic to the real server. slowdown: the real server continues to process the existed session previously assigned to it, but the loadbalance device does not assign any new session to the real server.

What is h3cLBRealServerStatus?

This OID controls the operational state of a real server: enabled (receives all traffic), disabled (no traffic), or slowdown (drains existing connections but accepts no new ones). Operators use this for graceful maintenance and traffic management. Setting to "slowdown" allows current sessions to complete before the server goes offline.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.45.1.10.2.116.1.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> A3COM-HUAWEI-LB-MIB::h3cLBRealServerStatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.45.1.10.2.116.1.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> A3COM-HUAWEI-LB-MIB::h3cLBRealServerStatus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.45.1.10.2.116.1.2.1.2.1 i <value>

Start monitoring H3C load-balancing switches/appliances with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the A3COM-HUAWEI-LB-MIB::h3cLBRealServerStatus OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any H3C load-balancing switches/appliances from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select an H3C load-balancing switches/appliance as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type h3cLBRealServerStatus into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. The real server's status — enabled (receiving new sessions), disabled (no traffic assigned), or slowdown (finishing existing sessions but not receiving new ones). On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is 'disabled' or 'slowdown', since that means this real server is no longer receiving full traffic from the load balancer. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
