SNMP Monitoring for Network Chassis

A selection of MIBs that support network chassis monitoring is listed below:

• ARROWPOINT-CNTDNSEXT-MIB: This MIB module describes the CSS chassis manager.
• CISCO-6400-CHASSIS-MIB: This MIB provides product information for the Cisco 6400 Chassis.
• CISCO-ENTITY-ALARM-MIB: This MIB module defines managed objects for monitoring alarms from physical entities within the system, such as chassis, slots, modules, ports, power supplies, and fans. It allows for comprehensive alarm monitoring of physical components.
• CISCO-RHINO-MIB: The interim Chassis MIB for the Rhino ATM switch.
• CISCO-STACK-MIB: This is the primary SNMP MIB for Catalyst OS products like the Catalyst 1000, 1200, 4000, 5000, and 6000. It offers configuration and runtime status information for chassis, modules, ports, and other components on Catalyst systems.
• EXTREME-VC-MIB: This MIB module contains objects for the Extreme Virtual Chassis.
• JUNIPER-ALARM-MIB: Juniper Networks’ enterprise-specific MIB for chassis alarms.
• JUNIPER-CHASSIS-DEFINES-MIB: This MIB defines OIDs that the chassis MIB uses to identify platform and chassis components.
• LM-SENSORS-MIB: This MIB defines objects for lm_sensor data. It is derived from the VEST-INTERNETT-MIB.
• OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB: This MIB module contains information for retrieving chassis information (specifically the serial number) from Cisco routers and switches. Note that objects in this MIB have been deprecated since IOS 12.0.
